So hating these new word verifications we have to put on people's blogs to accept our comments. Sometimes they are just so hard to read and decipher and why two words now?? Three attempts later and I FINALLY managed to post a comment - talk about putting you off. Lots of people read blogs, but rarely comment. This is a surefire way to put them off even more. Thus, a while ago I removed the word verification cause it just drives me nuts. If I get 'comments' that look as if they are scammed, I will just delete them.
I agree it's a pain. The other one is "your comment will be visible after approval". I have noticed that a couple of my comments never actually appeared so therefore I can assume the blogger did not approve me! Some blogs you cant even look at because you have to have an "invitation", so I avoid those in particular, it's a shame as there have been some that I would like to follow. As you say you can always delete comments or posts if your'e unhappy with what you see. It's like when you "lose" a follower for apparently no reason! But I wouldn't change the way I do my blog just because it may offend someone :) I will hope to do your "feature" soon, I will mail you :D
ReplyDeleteI hope I dont have word verification on mine, I'm sure I changed the settings, but I do like to read comments before they appear, I'm forever getting people commenting who want to give me free stuff for review, which I DO NOT want to be ar*ed with. I hate these new double words too, must be our age, Chrissy, I even get them when I post MY blog link on MY FB page!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I even have that on my blog... I'm so not 'techi'!!! I do have trouble when I have to input these verifications though, as I often have to do them 2 or 3 times!! Maybe it is an age thing,I agree, but I'm not going to admit to that!!! Hee Hee...Let me know if you have to do that on my blog, 'cause I'll change it straight away!! Also, this 'your comment will be published later' thingy, please let me know if this is on my blog, and I'll take it out!! Thanks for any help out there!!! xx
ReplyDeleteI think some of them are gettin harder to read and its not just on blogs they are on alsorts of sites now. I tried to see if some tickets were available for a show today and everytime you tried to click and look if seats were available in one are you had to enter one and they were barely readable after the thrid time I gave up.
ReplyDeleteHiya, I'm your newest follower! I've just worked out how to switch off word verification coz there's no option on the new interface. I had had to switch to the old interface temporarily to swith it off. xx
