I Spy with my little eye

We often see the foxes slinking around the edge of the garden and just beyond the fence.  We used to feed them in the garden on a regular basis, but they do have a habit of scent marking and in the summer it wasn't the most pleasant of smells.  So we resorted to putting their food over the bottom gate into the woods.  The weather must be making them very hungry - I guess their normal prey is hunking down in this cold spell.  Today we watched one doing a circuit of the garden searching out food - so we had to put out some - nice fresh chicken mixed in with dog kibble - hope he, or she enjoys.  They are such beautiful looking animals - so sadly persecuted, along with the badgers.

  2. Beautiful creatures to look at. We have foxes, badgers and monkjack deer up our road at night and in the fields below us and deer at the top of the village. A bit of a worry as our 20 year old cat can't put up a fight now so we have to keep him in!! x

  3. How lucky you are to have such fab wildlife visiting your garden...
We're close to the countryside but are a bit too 'urban' for the local foxes. They don't get seen very often around here although I'm sure there are plenty.

  4. Beautiful photos of a gorgeous creature - I love foxes, although since one ate a pet hen two weeks ago I've had mixed feelings! Still, they need to eat and must be hungry in this weather - such is nature :)
